Nick Galvez serves the North Carolina Office of Rural Health (ORH) as the rural hospital
manager.  He manages two HRSA funding agreements for rural hospitals in NC, supporting
Critical Access Hospitals and Small Rural Hospitals across the state. He also manages the
Statewide Telepsychiatry (NC-STeP) program, administered by The East Carolina (ECU)
Center for Telepsychiatry.

 

The ORH Rural Hospital program team provides oversight and
legislative reporting for the NC-STeP program, as directed by the NC General Assembly.
The NC ORH hospital program supports NC rural communities, their hospitals and safety net
providers to improve access, quality and cost-effective healthcare services through
technical assistance, training and grant funding.

Before joining the Office of Rural Health, Mr. Galvez managed and administered programs
for acute and post-acute care organizations to implement regional and state level strategic
planning. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and an MBA from
the University of Tampa.
